On October 14, 2026, the INRB, the IRD, the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp and the Institut Pasteur jointly launched a study to identify healthcare workers and residents in Mongbwalu (Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo) who have been infected with the Ebola Bundibugyo virus but not yet diagnosed, to refer them for suitable medical care.
