Education Webinar: "Bacteria, models for studying immunity in the living world," on November 24, 2026
Did you know that bacteria have a highly diverse immune repertoire, and that this immune repertoire is not so different from that of animals, including humans?
The Department of Education, in collaboration with the Institut Pasteur Alumni Association and the Francophone University Agency (AUF) – Western Europe, is pleased to invite you to attend its latest webinar entitled "Bacteria, models for studying immunity in the living world," from 2 to 3.30pm on November 24, 2026, online via Zoom.

Aude Bernheim, Head of the Molecular Diversity of Microbes five-year group, will explain the immune system of bacteria and will particularly explore:
- The evolution and conservation of immune systems in the living world,
The discovery of novel antiviral molecules,
The identification of immune targets with biomedical implications.
Aude Bernheim studied molecular biology, bioinformatics and public policy in Paris, earning a PhD at the Institut Pasteur before completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Rotem Sorek's laboratory at the Weizmann Institute in Israel. Alongside her research, Aude is actively involved in promoting inclusivity in science through participatory science and scientific outreach initiatives and measures to foster dialog between science and public policy. Over the course of her career she has received several awards and is currently a member of the Presidential Council for Science established by the French President.
Come along and be inspired by Aude Bernheim's infectious enthusiasm! One day she is exploring new avenues using artificial intelligence; the next she is chatting to philosophers. For Aude, the living world has no borders.
This webinar is aimed at all those interested in the living world, whether scientists, health professionals, students or anyone interested in learning more about the links between biological mechanisms and their applications.
The webinar will be held in French and live subtitled in English or 35 other available languages (using artificial intelligence).
