PULSE network: structure and impetus for the Institut Pasteur's network of in-house trainers

On February 5, the Skills and Training Center in the Human Resources Department organized a kick-off meeting attended by nearly 40 people for PULSE, the Institut Pasteur's network of in-house trainers, who chose the name of the network themselves. The aim is to provide structure and impetus for this community involved in knowledge transfer on campus.

The Institut Pasteur's extensive scientific and technical expertise is shared and passed on to staff via in-house training. More than a hundred specialists on campus currently share their knowledge and practices by devising and leading training courses for their colleagues at the Institut Pasteur. These in-house trainers, working in different fields and different departments, together make up a community that contributes actively to skills development and the circulation of knowledge on campus, reflecting the goals of the Strategic Plan in terms of human-centered development.

The training on offer covers a wide variety of scientific, technical and methodological topics, ranging from scientific ethics and biosafety to bioinformatics, managing and sharing research data, and the challenges of innovation.

Internal trainers committed to knowledge transfer

To support the trainers and optimize their efforts, the Skills and Training Center in the Human Resources Department coordinates a network of in-house trainers known as PULSE, offering a dedicated forum for trainers to discuss among themselves, share teaching experiences and develop innovative training practices.

The kick-off meeting on February 5 was attended by nearly 40 people and included collaborative workshops, demonstrations of tools and exchanges of experience in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The event clearly demonstrated the commitment of the Institut Pasteur's in-house trainers to the task of transferring knowledge.

Share practices and keep the network alive

PULSE has four broad goals: to harness the teaching expertise of in-house trainers; to enhance the collective intelligence of the Institut Pasteur community; to encourage collaboration among people working in different areas; and to develop new training practices through innovation.

The PULSE network will continue to develop over the coming months, with further opportunities for discussion and exchange, giving in-house trainers the chance to compare their experiences, share teaching tools and move forward together.
