Awarded annually, the René & Andrée Duquesne Award reflects Andrée Duquesne's commitment to and support for scientific research. In her will, Mrs. Duquesne named the Institut Pasteur and the Ligue Contre le Cancer Paris Committee as joint residuary legatees of her estate.

This year, the winners of the René & AndréeDuquesne Award are James Di Santo, Distinguished Director of Research at Inserm, Distinguished Professor at the Institut Pasteur, Head of the Innate Immunity Unit, and Karim Fizazi, Executive Director of the Oscar Lambret Centre (Lille).

The award was presented on Monday, September 21, at the Ligue Contre le Cancer – Paris Committee, at a ceremony attended by Moshe Yaniv, Emeritus Professor at the Institut Pasteur, Laurent Perpere, Chair of the Ligue Contre le Cancer – Paris Committee, and Jessica Zucman-Rossi, Chair of the Scientific Council of the Ligue Contre le Cancer – Paris Committee.

James Di Santo received the award for his research into the immune response in various pathological conditions (infection, cancer, autoimmune diseases), which contributes to the diagnosis and treatment of immune-related disorders.
