At the Institut de l’audition: an internal event to mark International Sign Language Day on September 23

French Sign Language has been officially recognized as a language in its own right in France since 2005.

Since 2017, September 23 has been celebrated annually as International Sign Language Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of accessibility and promoting the linguistic and diversity of the deaf community.

This September 23, in honor of International Sign Language Day, the Institut de l’Audition (IdA) will host an in-house event organized with the support of the Fondation pour l’Audition, focused on French Sign Language (LSF).

From 1:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the auditorium, you will learn about the history of LSF to better understand the deaf sign language community, followed by a sign language awareness session led by an interpreter.

We hope to see many of you there!
